I like making Jackolanterns at Halloween.
A scene from X-Files opening. I tried a wacky manual HDR kind of thing.
Vortex Queen from Ecco the Dolphin.
Violent depiction of ‘NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!’ from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Super Metroid opening scene.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, shot from end of season 1 opening.
Depiction of the final scene of Aliens where Ripley gets in a power loader to fight the queen. This was a wide design, but split into two non-wide designs. Here are pictures of each design, and an attempt to capture both.
Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night.
Cyborg pumpkin. The microphone (pumpkin’s left ear) allowed us to hear trick-or-treaters from afar, the webcam (pumpkin’s right eye) to see them, and the speaker (mouth) allowed us to speak to them in a robot voice.
StarCraft Zerg victory background. This was a pretty wide design, and I just wrapped it onto the pumpkin. I didn’t know what the consequences would be. It was hard to see the whole thing at once, let alone take a picture of it.
Final scene from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Autobots symbol, from Transformers.
Neo, from The Matrix.
Einstein. Before making this I looked at the internet and saw pumpkins with the top layer of skin taken off as well as whole cuts, allowing multiple tones and different topology, so I tried it.
Skeletal chicken playing bassoon.
Inspired by the last boss of Final Fantasy 6. The thing at the left is a burning skeleton, the thing in the middle is a standard ghost, and the thing at the right is some kind of demon with wings. The ghost’s and skeleton’s tails are connected, and the ghost is barfing out the demon.
Another burning face. The pumpkin on the right is my brother’s and the one of the left is my mom’s, or possibly an aunt’s (it’s a bat, not a face).
Cross between something on a Diablo (the video game) box and the Grim Reaper.
Burning face. Anything I made before this was just a take on the standard 3 triangle and mouth with square teeth pumpkin.
